<p>Malaysians celebrated Olympics 2008 with its host China that day. Beijing has chosen Kuala Lumpur as one of the destination to have this historical event to celebrate the greatest sport event held every 4 years. The last time KL folks saw this was back in 1964 when Japan played host to Olympics.</p>
<p>The event started from Merdeka Square, KL and ended in <a href="http://www.suriaklcc.com.my/" target="_blank">KLCC</a> (Malaysia&#8217;s landmark) with tens of thousands of local and international supporters mainly of China origins. The Star reported a small incident but overall atmosphere was peaceful and fun where sponsors of different origins like <a href="http://www.coca-cola.com/glp/d/index.html">coca-cola</a>, <a href="http://my.samsungmobile.com/en/index.jsp">samsung</a> and <a href="http://www.lenovo.com/us/en/">lenovo</a> took advantage for their own promotions, students of china origins chanting away in support and also locals came to witness this historical event.</p>
<p><img src="http://photos-g.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v240/165/37/550664200/n550664200_375398_6219.jpg" alt="" width="402" height="604" /></p>
<p><img src="http://photos-h.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v240/165/37/550664200/s550664200_375399_6506.jpg" alt="Coca-cola" width="130" height="86" /><img src="http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v240/165/37/550664200/s550664200_375401_7066.jpg" alt="Lenovo" width="130" height="86" /><img src="http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v240/165/37/550664200/s550664200_372890_6093.jpg" alt="Samsung" width="130" height="86" /><img src="http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v240/165/37/550664200/s550664200_375400_6788.jpg" alt="" width="130" height="86" /><img src="http://photos-e.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v240/165/37/550664200/s550664200_372892_6613.jpg" alt="" width="130" height="86" /><img src="http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v240/165/37/550664200/s550664200_375409_7658.jpg" alt="" width="130" height="86" /></p>
<p>Photography opportunity was not good at all due to a few factors namely:</p>
<ul>
<li>Torch bearers have more than a dozen of FRUs and other staffs surrounding at all times.</li>
<li>Torch relay was done at un-strategic locations where clear view is impossible.</li>
<li>Lack of info of the exact route of the run.</li>
<li>Some if not most bearer only run for a mere 100m or less. <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">What is the point???</span></strong></li>
<li>many more</li>
</ul>
<p><img src="http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v240/165/37/550664200/s550664200_375394_5127.jpg" alt="" width="130" height="86" /> <img src="http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v240/165/37/550664200/s550664200_375395_5409.jpg" alt="" width="130" height="86" /></p>
<p>I can complaint till the cows come home but it is already done with and only god knows when we will be chosen again to run this event. One suggestion to the organizing committee is that they could have emulate the organizing style of Le Tour De Langkawi. I can imagine how difficult it was for many photo-journalist who has to scuffle with so many parties so that they can deliver that shot!</p>
